PROTOTYPE DEVELOPMENT

Bringing Product Ideas to Life Through Prototyping

A prototype is more than a proof of concept—it's an opportunity to test ideas, identify improvements, and validate your product before investing in manufacturing. From early concept models to fully functional prototypes, every iteration helps reduce risk and improve the final product.

Whether you're testing a new concept, preparing for investor presentations, or validating a production-ready design, Rabbit Product Design develops prototypes that help you move forward with confidence.

  • Validate your product before production

  • Identify design improvements early

  • Reduce risk and costly manufacturing changes

Appearance

Appearance prototypes are used to understand size, shape, ergonomics, and usability.

Made from dense foam, machined plastic, or 3D printed with or without a painted finish. Used for investor presentations, board meetings, and crowdfunding campaigns.

Proof of Concept

Proof of concept prototypes are used to validate a mechanism before starting development.

Built with custom-designed parts and/or reusing a portion of an existing product. Used to validate high-risk portions of a design or for investor

demos.

Breadboard

Breadboard prototypes are used to validate an electrical circuit or technology.

Built using custom PCBAs and/or reused components to save time and cost.
Used to validate high-risk portions of an electronic circuit.

Functional

A functional prototype is used to validate a completed design.

Custom electronics and mechanical parts are built, assembled, tested, and refined. Used to validate a completed design before going into manufacturing.

FINDING THE RIGHT SOLUTION

Are You Experiencing Any of This?

A successful prototype should validate your idea, uncover design improvements, and prepare your product for manufacturing. If it doesn't, you risk costly delays and unnecessary redesigns.

Unsure which prototyping method is right for your product

A prototype that looks good but doesn't function properly

Multiple design revisions delaying your path to production

You Know What The Product Should Do

This section will focus on what customers should look for when choosing a product or solution within this category. It can highlight important features, benefits, performance expectations, or other considerations that may influence their purchasing decision.

One Connected Development Path

This section will provide additional category-specific information that has not already been covered above. It can highlight what makes the company's approach, products, technology, materials, or process different from other options available in the market.

After Your Strategy Session

Every product is unique. Some ideas need concept development and industrial design, while others require engineering, prototyping, testing, or manufacturing support before they're ready for market.

After learning about your product, goals, and current stage of development, we'll recommend the right path forward and provide a custom proposal tailored to your project's needs.

More Than Product Design. A Complete Development Partner.

Rabbit helps you think through the full system behind your product — electronics, enclosure, user experience, prototyping, testing, manufacturing, sourcing, packaging, and launch strategy.

Instead of piecing together disconnected vendors one by one, you get one connected development path designed to move your product from idea to functional prototype to market with stronger technical alignment and fewer costly surprises.
