Build a Real, Working Prototype

Designed by Senior Engineers to Get You to Market Faster

What Type Of Prototype Do You Need?

APPEARANCE

Appearance Prototype
  • Appearance prototypes are used to understand size, shape, ergonomics, and usability.

  • Made from dense foam, machined plastic, or 3D Printed with or without a painted finish.

  • Used for investor presentations, board meetings, and crowdfunding campaigns.

PROOF OF CONCEPT

Proof Of Concept
  • Proof of concept prototypes are used to validate a mechanism before starting development.

  • Built with custom-designed parts and/or reusing a portion of an existing product.

  • Used to validate a high-risk portion of a design or may be used for an Investor demo.

BREADBOARD

Breadboard Prototype
  • Breadboard prototypes are used to validate an electrical circuit or technology.

  • Built using custom PCBA's as well as reusing a portion of an existing product to save time and cost.

  • Used to validate high risk portion of an electronic circuit.

FUNCTIONAL

Functional Prototype
  • A functional prototype is used to validate a completed design.

  • Custom electronics and mechanical parts are built, assembled, tested, and refined.

  • Used to validate a completed design before going into manufacturing.

Learn How To Prototype Your Idea

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

What is a prototype, and why do I need one?

A prototype is a physical version of your product idea used to test form, function, and usability. It allows you to validate your concept, identify design improvements, and demonstrate your idea to investors or partners before moving to manufacturing.

What makes Rabbit’s prototyping different from others?

We build real, functional prototypes, not low-quality 3D prints. Every prototype is made using production-grade materials and overseen by senior engineers with an average of 27 years of experience. This means your prototype is built for testing, durability, and market readiness.

How long does the prototyping process take?

Timelines vary depending on product complexity, but most prototypes are completed in 2 to 5 weeks. We’ll give you a detailed timeline during your strategy session and keep you updated every step of the way.

Can you also design the prototype, or do I need CAD files first?

Yes, we offer full CAD design services in-house. If you don’t have CAD files, our engineers will create them based on your idea or concept sketches. We ensure your design is optimized for both prototyping and future manufacturing.

How much does a prototype cost?

Costs depend on size, materials, complexity, and number of parts. After a product evaluation, we’ll provide a clear estimate. We also focus on cost-effective prototyping that’s built for long-term ROI, not just looks.

Will my idea be protected if I work with you?

Yes. We are happy to sign non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) to protect your intellectual property. Your idea is safe with us. We've helped thousands of inventors launch with confidence.

Can I use my prototype to raise funding or pitch investors?

Absolutely. Our prototypes are presentation-ready and designed to showcase your idea’s real-world potential. Many of our clients use them for pitch meetings, crowdfunding campaigns, and trade shows.

Do you help with manufacturing after the prototype is done?

Yes. We specialize in end-to-end product development, including factory sourcing, production tooling, and scalable manufacturing. Our goal is to take you from idea to full product launch, not just stop at the prototype.

Can I request changes to the prototype if I want to revise the design?

Yes. We expect that! Prototyping is a learning process. Based on your feedback and testing, we can refine the design, update the CAD files, and rebuild as needed before manufacturing begins.
